Wakala is a Shariah-compliant investment portfolio managed by GFH Financial Group. It is not a deposit. The investment amount is strategically allocated across a diversified portfolio, including fixed income securities and yielding funds, to achieve an expected return.
The GFH Wakala Account offers expected returns of up to 7% per annum, available exclusively via the GFH mobile app across the GCC.
Yes. All activities under the GFH Wakala Account comply with Islamic Sharia principles, verified by GFH’s Shariah Supervisory Board.
This Account is offered to Accredited Investors who have a minimum net worth (or joint net worth with their spouse) of USD 1,000,000, excluding that person’s principal place of residence;
Individuals may elect in writing to be treated as Accredited Investors subject to meeting at least two of the following conditions:
(a) The investor has carried out trading/investing transactions, in significant size (i.e. value of transactions aggregating USD 200,000) over the last 12-month period;
(b) The size of the investor’s financial assets portfolio including cash deposits and financial instruments is USD 500,000 or more; and/or
(c) The investor works or has worked in the financial sector for at least one year in a professional position, which requires knowledge of the transactions or services envisaged (i.e. the position was professional in nature and held in a field that allowed the client to acquire knowledge of transactions or services that have comparable features and a comparable level of complexity to the transactions or services envisaged).
Residents of Bahrain: USD 100,000; All other countries: USD 3,000.
Any Investments in Bahraini Dinars: BHD 37,700.
Early exit policies vary by investment product. For Wakala, funds must remain for the agreed tenor. For other products, refer to the respective terms.
Zakat is not deducted by GFH. Investors are responsible for calculating and paying zakat based on their total investment value.
The 7% is an annualized rate, paid monthly. For example, for 1 month, it would be approximately 0.583%. Profit distribution is calculated proportionally based on the tenor.
Clients can use the in-app calculator to determine expected profit based on amount and tenor. For example, USD 100,000 for 1 month @ 7% p.a. yields an expected return of approx. USD 583.
Principal is credited to your account. Auto-rollover can be enabled but future profit rates may differ.
Auto-rollover is optional and must be enabled manually. Profit rates are subject to change.
